How do I workout? . . .

This is a common question, I get asked a lot too. Well, my workout consist of hard work and dedication. Yes, it is tough to workout all the time, but guess what you have to motivate yourself. The easiest way to motivate yourself is to set goals for yourself and till yourself you want to look the best in the world or become the best.

For my workout:

I run with a weighted vest on! and I run the least is 1mile but most of the time I would run between 1-2miles. For the last 200 yards I would sprint till I get to the finish line. I would push myself till I felt I had no more left in me.

After that I would take of my vest and then jump rope for about 10mins. Then I would do simple ab workouts and push ups to get more cut instead of bulky.

thats the end of my workout, now sometimes I would do this 3-5times a week. But I always try to go play basketball so I can keep burning fat on the days I do not workout.

Now you do not have to do my workout, but if you want to make a workout that works for you, which I have found that worked for me. I do this workout to stay lean and cut, not to get bulky, I do not play football anymore so its no need to be extra buff.

what do I as a model eat? . . .

"What do models(you) eat?" This is a question I get asked a lot by friends and other people. Honestly, I eat just about anything, but in a smart way. I do have main dishes that I eat, but then sometimes I try new things here and there. Also, I tell people it depends on what type of job I have coming up.

Now, this is what I eat . . .

*Morning:

I try to wake up to some oatmeal, with fruit, a glass of green tea or organic cereal, with of course low-fat milk and green tea. If you are asking yourself "why green tea?" because haven't you ever noticed that Asian families always look young even though they are very old in age? Well, guess what? their beauty secret is green tea! Green tea is a great source of antioxidants.

*Morning before photo shoots:

I eat very, very light. Like small fruit and a protein bar or just oatmeal.

*Afternoon (Mainly depends on where I am during my day):

Sometimes, I've been so far away from home, that I would have to stop by Wendy's or McDonald's and grab a side salad, with either two apple pies or 5pc chicken nuggets. Or sometime I would stop by subway, but lately I have not because I am trying to stay away from bread which haves a lot of carbs!

*Afternoon on photo shoot:

I grab a snack. Like fruit and a protein bar.

*Evening:

I mainly eat chicken as a good source of protein either grilled, or baked. I try to stay far away from fried chicken, and vegetables.

*Evening on photo shoot:

Snack . . .

Now, I base my whole eating habit around this. I try to stay away from sugar, but who can. The main thing about eating, is eating the right amounts. MEANING DO NOT EAT, TILL YOU GET FULL AND STUFFED, BUT THE KEY IS, EAT TILL YOU ARE NO LONGER HUNGRY! SMALL PORTIONS IS THE KEY!

BUT they main thing I try to watch is calories, and I try to stay away from dark meats and greasy foods.

tips on burning fat with eating . . .

As, I was searching the web I happen to run across these tips brought to you by Yahoo! and Lisa "Hungry Girl" Lillien. Honestly, I just copied and paste this, so you can get the exact words from a professional on food health.

LEAN PROTEIN
To put it simply, protein takes a lot of effort for the body to break down and digest. A lot more than, say, fat. So while your body is working hard to process that protein, you're burning calories. HG tip -- eat fish! Chances are you're not getting enough of it. Not only is fish a fabulous source of lean protein, BUT many types are full of those Omega-3 fatty acids you're always hearing about. Beans are also a wonderful source of protein. And it's no secret how we feel about our friend the soybean. (Let's have a cheer for veggie patties and soy-meats!)

WHOLE GRAINS
Belly fat is not particularly cute on anyone (except maybe babies), so it's exciting news that whole grains can do a number on that stubborn flab around your midsection. One of the easiest ways to get whole grains into your diet? Oatmeal in the morning. Quaker's Simple Harvest Multigrain Hot Cereal is really good and just full of grains. Also, Kashi GoLean's Hot Cereal packs in 7 whole grains and a big 5 - 7g fiber! Mmmmm...

GRAPEFRUIT
Ever since you were a kid popping Flintstones Chewables, you've known that Vitamin C is good for you -- and that certainly hasn't changed. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant AND has been shown in studies to help burn fat. So, if you're looking for a snack, how's about a nice, juicy grapefruit? The theory is that grapefruit helps to lower insulin levels, which keeps you from being hungry all the time! We know it smacks of classic diet food, but those Ruby Reds are MIGHTY delicious! If it's too sour for you straight, sprinkle it with some no-calorie sweetener like Splenda or stevia.

GREEN TEA
Green tea is EVERYWHERE. It's been classified as a "superfood" as it's been linked to reduced rates of heart disease and cancer. And now it helps us lose weight too? Green tea has been shown to raise our metabolism, which is key in our battle with the bad stuff. Researchers also suspect that substances called polyphenols combined with caffeine are responsible for its fat-burning properties. If the hot murky stuff doesn't do it for you, try HG's Green Tea Crème Swappuccino! Only 75 calories and SO GOOD!

SPICY FOODS
You know how when you eat spicy foods, you sometimes start to sweat a little (ew)? That's because it's given a little kick to your heart rate. These little kicks will result in a temporary increase in your metabolism, which will help you burn fat a little easier for a bit. A quick hit with cayenne, red pepper flakes, or whatever hot sauce you fancy should do the trick and get your blood pumping. And these spices are practically calorie-free. Yes!

LIGHT DAIRY
Hey, dairy queens! Good news! It turns out that people who eat low-fat or fat-free dairy lose MORE weight than people who don't. Sure we mentioned protein before, but it bears bringing up again since the magical combo of calcium and protein seems to work wonders. We're WAY into yogurt, so we suggest picking up some Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt and mixing in your favorite fruits, sugar-free preserves... or whatever! Also, light string cheese is a GREAT little snack, with only around 50-60 calories and 2.5g fat a pop. Not bad for hard cheese, people.

WATER
Experts say it's important to drink lots of water if you're trying to burn fat Your body can't work effectively if it's dehydrated -- not only will you FEEL like you don't have any energy, but also your body really won't have what it needs to function and burn off fat. Keep that machine humming -- drink around 8 glasses of water a day!

CINNAMON
Sure this stuff tastes good -- that's why it's found in SO many things. But those chefs might not know that their sprinkling of cinnamon is helping the body process sugar more effectively and lower blood sugar levels. High blood sugar can lead to the body storing more fat, so maybe put together a little shaker of cinnamon and Splenda to sprinkle on your favorite foods! Then whip up some fat-burning cinnamon toast by using your new concoction on whole-wheat bread!

APPLES
An apple a day isn't going to keep the gym away, but it'll probably make your diet plan more effective. Word on the street is that the pectin contained in apples limits how much fat your cells can absorb. (SWEET!) Plus it's a naturally soluble fiber, which is always good. So next time you feel all snacky, grab whichever apple looks best to you.

Runway down . . . . fall in Prada spring/summer 09 show

Wow, as a professional model myself I fear falling on the runway! Well, guess what it's happened again during Prada's fashion show a model is seen stumbling down the runway and falling to her A**. I give Katie much respect for having the courage to take off those high platform shoes during the show to finish her walk. Katie Fogarty I hope this does not put a stop to your career but gives you more power to great success. I hope you did not hurt any bones.

some shoes are better off walking down the street with rather then on a runway...

Model of the Month!

The very first model of the month is Alek Wek! The reason why I picked her is because Alek Wek has been around for many fashion season now and she is still hot! I give her my up most respect for being a DARK SKINNED MODEL! Heres a little quick bio on her if you did not already know. Alek was born April 16,1977 in Wau, Sudan. Alek graced the catwalk at the younger tender age of 18yrs old, which was in 1995. Before that the Wek family picked up and moved to Britain to escape the Civil war. So, if you ever hear her speak then of course you can tell she lived in Britain for many years. But anyways Alek has been and still are signed to top modeling agencies around the world like, FORD, IMG and D'management just to name a few. So enough I will now let her work speak for itself. But Alek Wek I must say thank you for being another dark skinned model that has held it down for many seasons of fashion, you are still opening doors for models.

I am counting down the day till we work together and it would be a honor!

Readers stay tuned till next month, to find out who is the next "Model of the Month!"

New York Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 09

First off, I would like to say congrats to all the designers and anyone involved in helping with the fashion shows. What a great success of meeting deadlines and showcases such great art work. I know for a fact that outside was dark and cloudy and pouring down with rain. So big ups to everyone involved with MB-NYC-FW. I'm not going to say much but I will let the designers speak for them self. I would like to say, make sure to pay attention to the great details, and colors that are chosen for Spring/Summer also if you can challenge yourself by asking yourself what you would do different, how would you wear the garments on a day to day base. Also my main focus is on this blog is mens . . .

Duckie Brown Spring 09

Perry Ellis Spring 09

Diesel Spring 09

Rock & Republic Spring/Summer 09

Michael Kors Spring 09

Z Zegna Spring/Summer 09 (I would really like to give big ups to Zegna, I have modeled for them a number of times. They are one of my favorite designers, and I would like to say I love this coming year spring, summer collection. Great job!)

I would like to give big ups to those models who really got to work. Get that money . . . Also I would really like to give big ups to Chanel Iman. She has really made a name for herself, and you will see her in a lot of designer fashion shows.

Also for inspiring models, pay attention to the designers and how each model walks. You would not walk the same for each designer, and garment, switch it up a little. Like how the women walk with one foot in front of the other, also look at the way they pose at the end of the runway. Look at the facial expressions, they are not all the same. So good luck to you all and keep up the good work. Be the go-getter that you was born to be!
